We found the Berkley House B&B to be a wonderful, peaceful retreat. The home itself is an architectural masterpiece and the owners have done an incredible job furnishing it. Our room, the "Catlett Chamber" was spacious, as was the bathroom. The hosts provided all the nice touches like bathrobes, quality toiletries, and coffee/tea upstairs. Especially nice was that the innkeepers touched up the room daily, welcoming us after a day of touring with and a freshly made bed, hot water for tea and chocolates. Unfortunately, the owners, Bonnie and Jeff were not on property during our stay, but they hired substitute innkeepers, Grant and Beth, who went above and beyond to meet the Inn's high standards of care and made sure we had everything we needed. We truly appreciated meeting the other interesting guests at breakfast and really enjoyed the tasty gourmet breakfasts. Thanks to the expertise of Grant and Beth, the food was beautifully presented and served with such care. Lastly, the location of the Berkley House was ideal to touring Historic Staunton. We simply walked to the American Shakespeare Theater, out to dinner at The Shack and through historic downtown. And the President Wilson Museum is literally across the street. Thanks for a lovely stay!

It was such a delight to read your review! And we're very excited that Grant and Beth made your stay truly memorable. We set very high standards for ourselves when we created Berkeley House Bed and Breakfast. It's difficult for us to step away from the B&B, even for some needed vacation, and leave it in the hands of someone else. Now we know we can relax a little more when we take time off. We only stayed for one night but I wish we could've stayed longer! We stayed in the Mornington Room and felt totally spoiled. There were even a couple snacks in the room. The owners were away for the weekend but they personally called us ahead of time to let us know. The house sitters were welcoming, friendly, and gave great suggestions of what to do in the area while we stayed. Great experience overall!

We were very happy with our choice to stay at the Afton Mountain Inn. The accommodations were lovely, the breakfasts outstanding and the hosts were very gracious and helpful!

Had a great stay this weekend. Guest hosts, Beth and Grant, were very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. Thanks for making our visit so pleasant. Would definitely recommend.
